The Yoga for Health and Education Trust is a not-for profit-making company set up by past members of the Yoga for Health Foundation. The new organisation aims to build a residential centre in the centre of England that will promote the benefits of yoga to all – including those who are disabled.

The Trust is developing a unique teacher-training scheme and is in talks with a leading University to establish accreditation. In particular the teaching will highlight remedial yoga. (Yoga used as a therapy by the student to promote health and healing of mind, body and spirit). Please Click here to see further details of the teacher-training scheme and training days.

The Yoga for Health and Education Trust is setting up as a membership organisation. Working with its membership base we are developing a national network of regional groups to pass on the benefits of teaching yoga to everyone, including the less-able, across the country. We are actively encouraging people to join our new organization – please Click here for further details of how to become a member.

Yoga events are being organized throughout the year to which all are welcome, Please Click here to see what we have planned.

The Yoga for Health Foundation, which sadly closed in December 2005, was a charity that was dedicated to bringing yoga to all. The Yoga for Health Foundation offered yoga classes, residential courses and teacher-training for everybody. The new organization intends to carry on with this work.

Yoga, meaning union, brings about a deep sense of well-being, which in turn promotes mental, spiritual and physical health. Yoga includes:

  • Physical Health – this comes about through the postures that are targeted for the individual, together with nutritional guidance – through the yoga diet.
  • Mental & Emotional Health – learning to control and still the mind has a positive effect on the body. Yoga helps us to be in control of our emotions by teaching calmness, stillness and detachment.
  • Spiritual Health – when the mind becomes calmer, the spirit starts to shine through.

Everyone can dramatically improve their health from yoga. For example those with ME, cancer, MS and Parkinson’s often make great improvement by integrating yoga in to their everyday lives - as do people who suffer from general stress disorders or the aches and pains of everyday living.
